Work in training pays off as U10 Saints impress in opening game

The U10 Saints enjoyed a great start to the Jack Kalson Junior League season when up against an equally impressive App-Frod Saints team at Redbourne Club on Saturday.
After both teams lined up to pay their respects with a minute’s silence to remember the Queen, the Saints of Scotter looked refreshed and eager on the back of their summer’s rest.
Quickly putting the disappointment of a penalty shootout defeat in the semi-finals of the Dale Park tournament behind them, we’re told they put on a wonderous display of their footballing skills.
Coach Paul said: “The way we played today was wonderful. The effort in training has paid off. The boys are becoming independently-thinking footballers and making great choices.
“Thanks to App-Frod Saints for making us feel welcome again.”
Well done to Oliver (pictured) on picking up the coaches’ player of the match award, while Jack received the parents’ accolade in what was his first league game for the team.
