The U9 Saints enjoyed an extra special opening weekend to their season on Saturday by being flagbearers for Scunthorpe United’s National League clash with York City.

After a busy morning hosting Gainsborough Trinity Blues at the Village Hall, the team hot-footed it down to Glanford Park where they welcomed both teams out on to the pitch in front of more than 3,700 fans.

They then watched on from the stands together as the Iron fought back from a goal down to claim a deserved late draw.
