U14 Colts tame Park Tigers to reach Divisional Trophy final

The U14 Colts have become the second of our sides to reach a cup final this season, having turned on the style during their U14 Divisional Trophy semi-final clash with Park Tigers on Sunday.
Quick out of the blocks, they showed great desire to defend from the front and establish a commanding early lead, and then never let their standards slip in a match they were able to dominate from start to finish.
Well done to them for producing one of their best displays of the season, in their biggest game so far.
Coach Chris said: “The boys have had a really good season and on Sunday, to a man, were brilliant across the board.
“Those up front worked tirelessly all game and were well-supported by the midfield, who kept their shape well to support what went on in both boxes.
“While the final scoreline looked one-sided, the defence and goalkeeper Isaac had to be alert on numerous occasions, and their decision-making was spot on.
“I say it often but I’m blessed to be working with a group who always try to take on board new ideas and want to better themselves.”
Archie led the scoring with four goals, with Thomas and Finn both notching twice, and Filip and an own goal rounding off the victory.
However, it was the industrious Luca who picked up the team’s Martin O’Hara – Mortgage Advisor at JDW-sponsored player of the match trophy. He highlighted his versatility by playing in a number of different positions over the course of the contest, and made a defining contribution in each.
Good luck to the Colts in the final, where they will face unbeaten F4 IT Division One champions Brigg Town.
