Remember that fab new trophy we posted about earlier in the week?

Winger Blake was the first to get his hands on the prize for his man-of-match performance for the U14 Colts at Barton Juniors last weekend.

He received the award – sponsored by Martin O’Hara – Mortgage Advisor at JDW – in recognition of his strength on the ball and his determination to win possession back against a strong and physical home side.

It helped the Colts to a 2-0 success in what was a disciplined and determined display.

They went in front in the first half when Thomas headed home a well-worked team goal from Archie’s inviting cross, and doubled their lead not long after the break when Jack found the top corner from the edge of the box.

With some better finishing the margin of victory could have been more comfortable, although the team were also thankful for the midfield and defence’s tenacity towards not allowing Barton to build any momentum.

Well done to them for a second win in as many matches this term.
