The U14 Colts began their Jack Kalson Junior League season with a big win at Gainsborough Trinity at the weekend courtesy of an excellent team performance.
Singling out one player was difficult, but midfielder Rykie just shaded the man-of-the-match honours for his unselfish play and creativity in the middle of the park.
As well as having the awareness to spot good movement from his team-mates off the ball, he was able to execute the perfect pass, creating numerous chances for others. He also weighed in with a couple of goals himself – two cracking strikes into the top corner from range.
Other goalscorers in what was a great curtain-raiser to the campaign were Thomas and Luca, who each netted four times, Archie (two) and Blake and Filip.
Kudos to the defence and goalkeeper Isaac too for their work in restricting their hosts to very few chances.
