The U13 Colts produced a performance to be proud of when they returned to action at home to Cobweb Crystal Division leaders Brigg Town Juniors on Sunday.
Working incredibly hard out of possession, they restricted the space the opposition had in which to play – limiting a team who have scored over 100 goals this season to few clear cut chances – and did well at opening up the pitch when back in possession.
While a 1-0 defeat may not have been the result they wanted, it highlighted their progress against a side to which they lost 8-1 earlier in the campaign.
Midfielder Finlay picked up man-of-the-match honours, receiving the team’s Awards FC trophy, for a disciplined and dogged display which set the standard for the team’s work rate.
Special mentions also go to defenders Adam, Will, Cory and Stan for maintaining concentration throughout, and winger Alfie for being a welcome outlet out wide.
