Midfielder Finn was man-of-the-match as the U14 Colts claimed a 2-1 victory against Park Tigers in the F4 IT Division One of the Jack Kalson Junior League on Sunday.
His game-winning contribution, which earned him the team’s Martin O’Hara – Mortgage Advisor at JDW sponsored trophy, included a crucial second goal – following a driving run down the left – and also a willingness to roll up his sleeves and battle in what proved a combative affair.
Archie’s close-range finish had given the side the lead in the early stages of the second half, but after Finn’s goal the hosts fought back well to set-up a nervy finale and the Colts had to grind out a third win in as many matches.
Goalkeeper Isaac also deserves a mention for two great saves either side of the break, which proved invaluable.
Well done to the team for showing the battling side of their game, on a day when they weren’t at their best.
