We’re starting this week by celebrating more success for the U10 Saints, who reached the final of the divisional cup for the second successive season on Saturday – a fantastic achievement.
But we’d also like to express our sincere commiserations to Messingham Juniors, who played their part in what proved to be an epic and nerve-wracking semi-final between two impressive teams.
While both sides fought hard to try to draw first blood and gain an advantage, they could not be separated at full-time, with a goalless draw taking the game to penalties.
After an equally-matched first set of spot kicks things went to sudden death, where the Saints eventually came out on top by the skin of their teeth – sparking wild celebrations among the team.
Finals day for the U9, U10, U11 and U12 age groups in the Jack Kalson Junior League has been scheduled for Saturday, April 22, at Park Tigers’ Charles Le Quelenec Park ground.
