The U13 Colts enjoyed a visit to Lincoln for their latest friendly on Sunday, facing Mid-Lincs County Youth League side Birchwood Mavericks.

Missing several of their squad through injury and unavailability, the game provided a valuable opportunity to gain welcome match time – and work on the tactical side of their game.

After recovering from the setback of going behind early on, they grew into the game with a brace from Archie and goals from Blake, Alfie and Jayden helping them to a 5-2 victory.

Man of the match though, picking up the team’s Awards FC trophy, was defender Will, who produced a dominant display at the back, despite being asked to fulfil a couple of different roles.

Well done to him and the rest of the squad for a hard-working performance at a fantastic facility, and thanks to Birchwood for being great hosts.
