Rykie helps U13 Colts grind out victory over Epworth

With a free weekend in the Jack Kalson Junior League, the U13 Colts hosted Epworth Town Colts in a friendly on Sunday.
Injuries and unavailability meant numbers were down on usual, but those available made the most of plenty of game time, with a hard-working performance ending in a 3-1 victory.
A dry and bobbly pitch made fluent football difficult, and in a game of few chances, it was the Colts’ battling qualities that ensured they came out on top.
Man of the match honours went to Rykie, who showed the progress he has made this season with a performance to be proud of, earning himself the team’s Awards FC trophy.
He showed his creative qualities out wide and when switched inside to an attacking midfield position, and also – on a day when several of the squad were asked to fulfil unfamiliar jobs – willingly took up a deeper-lying role to help protect a makeshift defence.
The Colts will look to take their momentum into their final league games of the campaign, starting against Bottesford Town Juniors this coming weekend.

The U13 Colts are sponsored by Wayne McCool Roofing. We thank them for their support.
