A sterling performance as a stand-in keeper saw defender Luca earn Player of the Match honours for the U13 Juniors on Sunday.

He stepped up to the plate with a string of fantastic saves in the team’s 5-2 defeat at Barton Juniors Colts – a scoreline which did not tell the full story of what was a competitive game.

While Luca picked up deserved praise for being willing to step out of his comfort zone and support the team, there was also a special mention for Jayden, who was commended by one of the home coaches as outstanding.

Well done to both players, and the rest of the team, for their efforts.
