We don’t lose, we learn. So in amongst the disappointment of defeat for the U13 Colts last weekend, there were some important lessons to take forward.
They were out of their game against App-Frod Saints before they’d really got going, but after being well behind at half-time, they at least recovered with a much-improved second-half performance.
A key factor in a better display during the final three quarters of the match was forward Filip (pictured), whose ability to hold the ball up and bring others into play gave the team a platform on which to build going forward.
He was also the first line of defence, putting the home back line under pressure and helping the Colts win the ball back higher up the pitch than they had been doing.
His efforts saw him pick up the team’s Awards FC trophy.
