Matches between the U13 Juniors and Colts are usually keenly-contested, and Sunday’s latest meeting in the Jack Kalson League proved no different – with both teams having to battle the elements as much as one another!
Driving rain and a blustery wind, blowing from one end of the pitch to the other, made for difficult conditions, especially as both teams were without their usual goalkeepers.
As proved the case earlier in the season, the Colts had the edge in terms of the result, with Thomas and Sam each netting a brace and Archie and Filip also getting on the scoresheet.
Man of the match though for the Colts was defender Cory (pictured right), who enjoyed one of his best performances of the campaign, making good decisions on the ball to help the team to a welcome clean sheet.
For the Juniors, meanwhile, newcomer Leo (pictured far right) picked up the team’s Awards FC trophy following a battling display which highlighted the progress he has made since joining the team, as well as growing in confidence.
He came off with a nasty nose bleed after taking a ball to the face in the first half, but showed a great attitude by wanting to come back on straight away.
Well done to both sides for their efforts.
