Charity match to remember former coach Phil Markham

On Sunday, July 31, at Winterton Rangers, there will be a charity match in memory of long-serving, and fondly-remembered former Scotter Juniors coach Phil Markham, who sadly passed away in January.
Phil initially got involved with the club when taking over the running of his stepson Jimmy’s team, and also coached his son Alex’s team – taking them right the way through from U6 to U17. For a period he ran both teams at the same time.
To honour his memory, and to raise money for Mind – a charity close to his heart – some of Phil’s former players, along with friends and family, are to provide a feast of football and entertainment.
As well as the match, which kicks off at 11.30am, there will be a bouncy castle, a raffle and refreshments available.
