The U8 Colts make a belated return to league action on Saturday when they face Caistor Tennyson Tigers.

But they made the most of being handed a free week in the fixture calendar last weekend by organising a last-minute visit to Messingham Juniors  to round off their pre-season preparations.

In what proved to be a keenly-contested friendly, settled in the end by a single goal, Quinn (pictured) was named player of the match for an energetic and solid performance in defence.

There was also the added bonus of some cake to share around, courtesy of birthday boy Rupert!
