Archie bags brace as U13 Colts beat Barton in friendly

The U13 Colts were back in friendly action on Sunday morning, beating Barton Juniors 4-1 in a game of two contrasting halves.
Having led 4-0 at the break on the back of an impressive opening half hour, the team were unable to find the same fluency in the second period, against opposition who raised their game and made it much more competitive.
However, while unable to add to their tally, they at least managed to keep things tight at the back, eventually showing good game management to grind out a positive result.
Man-of-the-match this week was stand-in skipper Archie, whose quickfire brace gave the Colts the perfect start. He also showed great tactical knowledge in the second half to switch positions and take on a different role to try to help the team regain the ascendancy.
Well done to him on picking up their Awards FC trophy, and the rest of the side for their collective efforts. Other goalscorers were Sam and Rykie.
